The Membership Committee works to sustain and further develop the Queen Anne's County Chamber of Commerce through membership recruitment and retention. Committee members also work to develop programs that will better serve Chamber members while encouraging membership participation and support of Chamber events and initiatives.
This Committee oversees the Business/Education Partnership programs with the Queen Anne's County Board of Education and work closely with Chesapeake College. These programs include the Work Based Learning Program, Honor Card Program, ACES Program, Mentoring Program, Management Academy, Leadership a Studies and Teacher of the Year Program. Committee members have a commitment to the education of Queen Anne's County youth and an understanding of how vastly important quality education programs are to the development and growth of the business community.
The Government Affairs Committee tracks Maryland General Assembly legislation as followed by the Maryland Chamber of Commerce. Committee members are also tasked with tracking governmental activities, issues and legislation that is pertinent to Queen Anne's County and the Eastern Shore community as a whole. Members are encouraged to bring legislative issues of concern to them and their fellow business owners and professionals to the Government Affairs Committee for review.
The Environmental Matters Committee works to develop a better understanding of the issues and concerns of the environmental industries within Queen Anne's County. Committee members will work with professionals of these industries to gain information that will enable them to offer position opinions to the Chamber's Legislative and Economic Development Committees regarding environmental concerns.
